Dear Sir/Madam Director,
My full name is Anouk de Laferrere Summers. I am a high school student from Las Cumbres School in Argentina and I love art. Therefore, I am writing to you to apply for a position as an exchange student, this summer, in Cambridge University.
I was always keen on art. This year, as regards my personal proyect, at first, there were so many aspects I was concerned in that I could not decide which one I would choose. Thus, I followed the path focusing on black pencil and its tecnic. This way I would be able to improve my artistic abilities on the most basic but most extended subject.
For a start, I decided to draw different scenarious and then the people and culture that prevailed there. I developed one, based on the Brooklyn Bridge and its people during the 1960’s, but I later understood that I was not meant to follow that. I soon discovered that I should devote my work to a larger matter. That is when my black pencil proyect began to have a meaning.
Then, I determined that my work would be concentrated on the realistic drawing of the eyes and the mouth of human beings. I started with the eyes and I am sure that they were anything but realistic. After some lessons and some youtube videos about how to draw eyes, I noticed a great improvement. I later started using some pictures from people in newspapers and magazines in which I based my drawings.
Here are enclosed some of my pieces of art. I would be glad if you consider my request as regards my capabilities and I recieve a reply from you on your earliest convinience.
Anouk de Laferrere
2nd year student from Las Cumbres School, Buenos Aires, Argentina
